Micropiles
Micropiles are deep foundation elements with a cross-section of up to 300 mm in diameter, which transfer loads from the superstructure to deeper, load-bearing soil layers by means of surface friction.
Micropiles can transfer tensile, compressive and alternating loads. Typical applications include new foundations or retrofitting (strengthening) of structures (e.g. buildings, bridges, retaining walls, masts, etc.) or securing components against uplift in groundwater.
